  • SECOND GENERAL SESSION, July 7, 12:30 p.m.—Saundra K. Schuster, Esq., Partner, The National Center for Higher Education Risk Management on “The Voice from Washington: Title IX, the Jeanne Clery Act—Updates and Key Issues regarding Notification and Compliance Requirements”
  • THIRD GENERAL SESSION, July 8, 8:30 a.m.—Melissa S. Morrow, Esq., Supervisory Special Agent, FBI, on “The Internet, Social Media, and Youth as Victims”

·         A 90 presentation from the FBI titled “Gang, Extremist, and Hate Group Activity in Missouri”
·         Testimonials from schools (public and nonpublic) that have implemented the Olewus Bullying Prevention Program (Hear what practitioners who have implemented the Olewus Program say about it!)
·         A presentation on “stalking”—focusing on the trend line of stalking behavior on campuses, indications about why this behavior is increasing, and strategies and programs for dealing with stalking
·         A review of key precautions to protect campuses from incidents of tornadoes and earthquakes—“traditional challenges” to the safety and security of schools and colleges
·         An update and review of key elements of Missouri’s Safe Schools Act from a policy specialist of the Missouri School Boards’ Association (This particular session will be instructive to Safety Coordinators in public school districts as well as to law enforcement!)
A presentation about when access to a public campus can be denied to a person or group
·         from the legal staff of the Missouri School Boards’ Association
·         A briefing on human trafficking and its impact on youth
·         An update about behavioral health trends at Missouri’s colleges and universities
     Some concurrent sessions will offer POST credit for Missouri law enforcement—no fee charge  
2011 Conference Registration Fees and Lodging . . .
  • $225 regular registration ($150 registration for college students) unchanged from 2009—registration includes participation in pre-conference workshops, continental breakfast on July 7, lunch on July 7, the Conference Reception on July 7, and breakfast on July 8
